01Scope

These terms apply to every treatment and every purchase at Sereine by Maud. By confirming an appointment you agree to them.

02Who I treat

I treat only women aged eighteen or over. I do not treat minors, not even with the consent of a parent or guardian.

There are two reasons for this. A treatment is physically intimate: you lie largely undressed under a sheet. And I work alone, often in the evening, in the homes of people I do not know. The rule applies without exception, including with a Sereine Series or a gift voucher. If on arrival it turns out this condition is not met, the treatment does not go ahead and counts as a cancellation within 24 hours.

03Booking an appointment

Appointments are made via WhatsApp, email or Instagram. On confirmation I ask you for the exact address, the floor, any door code and a phone number where you can be reached that day.

An appointment is only final once the deposit of € 30 has been paid. That amount is deducted from the final price. If you book with a Sereine Series or a gift voucher, your session or voucher counts as the confirmation and I ask for no deposit. The exception is set out in article 05.

04Cancelling and rescheduling

• Up to 24 hours before the appointment you can cancel or reschedule free of charge. The deposit moves once to the new date. If you cancel in time without setting a new date, you get the deposit back.
• If the same appointment is moved a second time, the deposit does not transfer again and I ask for a new deposit for the new date. The first deposit is then neither refunded nor set off.
• In the event of a cancellation within 24 hours, or if you are not at home, the deposit is not refunded.
• With a Sereine Series or a gift voucher, your session or voucher stays valid in that case. If it happens a second time, I ask for a deposit of € 30 for the next appointment.
• If you fall ill on the day itself, let me know straight away. A treatment during a fever or an active infection is not advisable anyway, so the deposit moves to a new date. That applies once. If it happens a second time, the ordinary rule above applies and the deposit is not refunded.
• If I am the one who has to cancel or move an appointment, you get the deposit back in full or it moves to a new date, whichever you prefer. Your session or voucher of course stays valid.

05Running late

• If you are still not at home fifteen minutes after the agreed time, the appointment counts as missed. During those fifteen minutes I will of course try to reach you.
• If you are there but not ready yet, the treatment still starts and ends as planned.
• If I am the one running late, you of course get your full time, or we find a solution together.
• An appointment that counts as missed is treated as a cancellation within 24 hours, as set out in article 03. The same applies when the treatment cannot go ahead for the reason given in article 07.

06Sereine Series

The Sereine Series is a card for ten treatments, nine of which you pay for. The card costs € 1,350, which is ten 60-minute treatments at € 135 instead of € 150.

• The Sereine Series is a package of ten treatments with a fixed end date, not an open credit.
• The card is valid for one year from your first treatment. That first appointment is booked at the time of purchase, so the end date is known from the start and is shown on your card. If your first treatment is on 3 September, your card runs until 2 September the following year.
• The card is personal and in your name, and cannot be passed on.
• One session equals 60 minutes. A 90-minute treatment costs one and a half sessions.
• A Sereine Face Edit can also be booked with your Sereine Series. It costs one session plus a deposit of € 30, payable when the appointment is confirmed. That amount covers the difference between the standard 60-minute rate and the Sereine Face Edit, so there is nothing left to pay afterwards for the treatment itself. The cancellation and rescheduling rules in article 03 apply to this deposit as well.
• You have fourteen days after purchase to change your mind, as long as no session has been used. See article 13.
• Once the first session has been used, the package is fixed: from that moment there is no further right of withdrawal and the card can no longer be refunded. After the fourteen days, a refund is no longer possible either.
• Unused sessions expire on the end date.
• If prices change, a card already in use keeps the conditions from the time of purchase.
• In the event of long-term illness or pregnancy, the validity can be suspended temporarily by agreement.

07Gift vouchers

A Sereine gift voucher is issued in a name or as a present, and carries its own number.

• The voucher is valid for one year from the date of purchase. That date is printed on the voucher.
• It is valid for all treatments in The Sereine Selection.
• When you book with a gift voucher, I do not ask for a deposit. The voucher confirms the appointment.
• If that appointment is cancelled within 24 hours, or you are not at home, the voucher remains valid. If it happens a second time, I ask for a deposit of € 30 for the next appointment.
• If the voucher carries an amount and the treatment costs more, you pay the difference. If it costs less, the balance is not paid out.
• A voucher cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be redeemed in instalments.
• Travel within the core region around Ghent is included. If the treatment address lies outside that area, the same travel contribution applies as for an ordinary appointment, to be paid at the time of the treatment.
• You may pass the voucher on to someone else, unless a name is printed on it.
• If you lose it, let me know. I can find it by its number.

08What you provide at home

A warm, quiet space with enough room around the treatment table, and somewhere to wash my hands. I bring the table, the linen and the oil.

If the space is not suitable when I arrive, for example too cold, too small or not quiet, we look together for an alternative in the house. If that is not possible, the appointment counts as missed.

09Health

You tell me beforehand about pregnancy, medication, recent surgery and medical conditions. If you have a fever, an active infection, acute thrombosis or certain other medical situations, a treatment may not be advisable. If in doubt, I ask you to seek medical advice first.

Sereine offers wellness and massage treatments. That is not a medical diagnosis, not physiotherapy and not a replacement for medical treatment.

10Respect and safety

Sereine offers professional treatments only. Any suggestion of anything other than a professional treatment means the treatment stops immediately, the full amount remains payable and no further appointments will be made.

11Force majeure

If I cannot come due to illness or force majeure, you get the deposit back or we reschedule free of charge, without a session being deducted.

12Travel

Travel within the core region is included in the price, for cardholders and for anyone booking with a gift voucher as well.

By core region we mean Ghent, including Drongen, Mariakerke, Wondelgem, Sint-Amandsberg, Oostakker, Gentbrugge, Ledeberg, Zwijnaarde and Sint-Denijs-Westrem, as well as Merelbeke, Melle, Destelbergen, Lochristi, Sint-Martens-Latem, De Pinte, Nazareth, Deinze, Evergem, Lievegem, Wetteren, Laarne, Oosterzele, Gavere, Wachtebeke and Zelzate.

If your address lies outside those municipalities and more than 25 kilometres from the centre of Ghent, I charge a travel contribution of € 1 per kilometre from the 26th kilometre onwards, for the outward journey. I work that distance out in advance via the fastest route and let you know the amount before the appointment is made, so you are never caught out.

13Payment and prices

Payment is electronic or in cash, after the treatment. The deposit is the exception: that is paid by bank transfer when the appointment is confirmed, and the appointment is fixed as soon as it comes in. A Sereine Series and a gift voucher are also paid in advance by bank transfer. An invoice is possible on request.

All prices are in euros and include VAT.

14Distance selling

If you buy a Sereine Series or a gift voucher via WhatsApp, email or Instagram, that is legally a distance sale with a statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal, from the date of purchase. If you tell me within those fourteen days that you are withdrawing and no session or voucher has been used, you get the full amount back.

The Sereine Series is a package of ten treatments with a fixed end date, not an open credit. If you expressly ask to use a first session during those fourteen days, you accept that the package becomes fixed and that your right of withdrawal lapses at that moment. After the fourteen days, or from the first session used, there is no further right of withdrawal.

15Liability

Sereine carries civil liability insurance. Liability remains limited to what that insurance covers. Sereine cannot be held liable for damage arising from information you did not share or shared incompletely.

16Privacy

How your data is processed is set out in the privacy statement.

17Disputes

Belgian law applies to these terms. In the event of a dispute we first look for a solution together. If that fails, the courts of the judicial district of East Flanders, Ghent division, have jurisdiction.
